This dreamy session is wildly popular right now for maternity photos, mom & baby together, fashion shoots & even boudoir photos. If you've been on Pinterest lately you've probably seen them! (they are typically done in a bath tub - I use an antique enamel basin)

What's in the bath?

Warm water & whole milk. Powdered milk can also be used and / or added. the more milk / powder used, the more creamy & opaque the bath will be. Essential oils can also be used in the bath.

How old does my baby have to be?
This session is ideal for babies who can sit unaided and are not yet mobile.

What is included in the session?

  • 45 minutes of photography (time will start after set up is complete)

  • 15-20 edited images, photo disc & the copyright / print release

  • Location of your choice (an outdoor location is highly recommended / preferred but it can be done indoors

  • Whole milk and / or powdered milk

  • Enamel basin for baby to sit in

  • An assortment of headbands

  • Flowers and / or greenery to decorate around the basin

  • Flower / greenery crown (I will need to know baby's head size)

  • Fruit such as strawberries, lemons, or oranges can also used in the session (optional)

What do I need to bring?

Just your adorable little one & a towel!

What if i don't want to use flowers or a flower crown?

This is totally up to you! You can customize your session any way you would like. If you don't want to go with a flower crown and are leaning more towards a fruit milk bath a simple headband (for girls) that matches the color of the fruit would go perfect!

Are milk bath sessions just for girls?

Not at all! For boys i would lean more towards a fruit bath. He could wear a stylish hat, a simple baseball cap or a bow tie! Ff you don't want to use fruit I do suggest using greenery in the milk vs flowers. A crown of just greenery can also be used. again, your session can be customized any way you would like.

Can I supply my own flowers?

Totally! "Flat" flowers are going to work best and float on top of the bath. Flowers such as ranunculus, hydrangeas, spray roses, rose petals, anemones, gardenias, lilacs, sunflowers, peonies, baby's breath & gerbera daisies. Eucalyptus & fern leaves are great greenery accents and add more "texture" to the bath.

Where do you order your flower crowns and flowers from?

So far I have used two different local businesses that I was very impressed with and would love to continue to do business with. My first floral crown and greenery I used was created at Superior Blooms and I then picked up fresh, Minnesota grown peonies at Duluth Flower Farm's booth at the local farmer's market.
